Taylor Carlson — Executive Sous Chef

Taylor has been part of the team at Heritage River since 2011. She began her career as a server in the dining room. While working as a server, the daily interactions she had with the residents was something she looked forward to. She then began to work in the kitchen as a cook and was promoted to Executive Sous Chef. Taylor’s passion for food drives her aspiration to become a Red Seal Chef.

Makayla Brennon — Dining Coordinator

Growing up in Bobcaygeon, Ontario, Makayla learned a devoted sense of community. Both her mother and her grandmother worked in healthcare, sparking a desire to do similar work one day. Her passions heavily revolve around horses, which is how she found herself relocating to Guelph, working and training with Dressage coaches. As the Dining Coordinator, she takes pride in creating positive experiences for the residents each day. She loves getting to know each individual and hearing the stories of their lives, taking away valuable lessons with each interaction.
